Being a distributor of Sole footwear we are proud to partner with them again to become a "closed loop partner". Sole Cork Flips and inserts use recycled cork in there process. While we have carried Sole cork sandals for years we are now a collection site for natural wine corks that are used in the footbeds of sole sandals and inserts.

After you have enjoyed your Sonoma County wines save the corks and bring them in to our cork recycling center and add them to our collection. Eventually they will get grounded up and recycled into any number of products maybe even your next pair of Sport Flips!

What are corks made of?
Natural cork actually come from cork trees. Cork begins its life as tree bark (oak tree bark, to be more exact). That bark is harvested, dried, boiled and cut into the tiny stoppers that form a perfect seal on your bottle. Most cork trees are found in Spain and Portugal and can live for up to 300 years. For a fascinating blow-by-blow of how corks are made (with plenty of pictures), check out this website.

What will happen to the recycled cork?
Your cork will be sent back to ReCork.Ground up and reused into a variety of products including Cork flooring, Cork boards and more recently a variety of shoe products including Sole Cork flips. Another website for recycled cork products: Cork Store.

Help us to close the loop.
